Ascension

Contemporary religious art is not usually expedient, but nevertheless I have endaevoured to depict a detailed account of the death and ressurrection in a pen drawing.

The picture is colourless to enhance the hauntingly intangible sadness. The scene is one of emotion and drama, of the horror of death under a darkened sky, yet mindful of Christ's terrible emotional prophecy that the Holy Spirit would rise again.

The mourners and their anguish disturb, while the rays of light from the tomb hint at the future of Christianity and the hope of redemption.
